In September 2006 Globalia, a large Spanish industrial holding, acquired a significant stake in Vividas – An IPTV technology company founded in 2000 in Melbourne which has its head office in London, with regional offices in New York and Melbourne. Since 2005, Vividas has been listed on the Alternative Investments Market (AIM) in London, as part of the investment by Globalia in Vividas, a joint venture company called Dargo has been founded by Vividas and Globalia with the aim to accelerate business development activities for Vividas throughout the world by providing new business opportunities based on Vividas’ unique technology.
Dargo.tv has been recently selected by Sail.tv, working as an AmericasCupAnywhere licensee of Alcatel-Lucent, the Official New Media Provider for the 32nd America's Cup, as its technology partner. This partnership enables the global broadcast of the 32nd edition of the America's Cup, through the Dargo.tv live internet streaming service.
Over 140 blue chip corporate and government clients have adopted Vividas technology, including Ford, Sony, Zurich, Honda, Goldman Sachs, and Warner Bros.
Vividas technology has been selected by Fox Sports to live stream in the USA the live soccer games from 2007 Copa Libertadores (the South American equivalent of the Champions League).
Vividas is also the technology selected by Sony Pictures to promote its 2007 films releases for full-screen and High Definition trailers.
